Best time in April and May when most days are clear for views of mountains and pleasant walks with longer sunlight hours due to spring season when wildflowers especially rhododendron and magnolia in bloom.
Another best months September to November although cold in the morning and night time with freezing temperatures around higher hills, but with the fine clear day but sunlight hours due to autumn/fall season.
Introduction:
Mt. Manaslu base camp trekking an adventure to the foot and worlds 8th highest peaks that tower at the height of 8,163 m and 26, 781 ft high, which was first conquered by Japanese Expeditions way back on May 9th, 1956.
Since the area around high Manaslu was closed for outside visitors due to its close borders of Nepal and Tibet / China, which was opened the past three decades where trekkers and adventurers require a special permit to enter into high scenic Manaslu valley and beyond.
Mt. Manaslu Base Camp Trekking where only a few trekkers seldom dare and venture as from the main route of Manaslu at Sama-Gaon where route left behind main villages and human settlements for a sheer wilderness of mountains and glaciers.
Where tented camping required for few nights on visiting Manaslu base camp, as most of the trekkers on this trail are only mountaineers for Mt. Manaslu Expeditions only a few groups of trekkers hardly takes this path to camp at Manaslu base camp just to be in complete isolation and in the harmony of high mountains.
Mt. Manaslu base camp trekking, truly an adventure on off the beaten tracks and being away from mainstream trekking trails of popular Manaslu circuit route where most trekkers enjoy, where our trail diverts from the main trail into the complete wilderness on less-visited areas by main flow of trekkers.
The walk starts on the main trail of Manaslu circuit for some days following the raging Buri-Gandaki River from low warm farm areas as the walk continues into cooler hills past many nice villages to reach highest Manaslu valley enclosed by giant peaks of Manaslu range that includes Himal Chuli and Boudha Himal with adjoining peaks.
From the village of Sama-Gaon route diverts into remote corners to reach at the base of mighty Mt. Manaslu after walking over moraine, ice and glaciers and then camping on a perfect spot beneath towering Mt. Manaslu.
Enjoy fabulous moments at base camp and then back on the same main trail to reach back into low warmer farm areas at Soti-Khola for the exciting drive back to Kathmandu, after a great exciting adventure on Mt. Manaslu base camp trekking.
