Season for Mt. Makalu Base Camp Trekking:

Mt. Makalu Base Camp Treks best months from March till May and September to November around spring and autumn/fall seasons, pick season for this trek from March to May when most days are clear for views of mountains and pleasant walks with longer sunlight hours due to spring season, where wildflowers especially rhododendron and magnolia in bloom around mid-green hills.

Next best season during autumn and fall from mid-September to November although cold in the morning and night time with freezing temperatures around higher hills, but with the fine clear day but sunlight hours due to autumn/fall and pre-winter season.

From low warm farm area reach towards high cooler hills covered with dense woods of tall rhododendron, oaks, pines and fir trees exploring local rural villages of Num and Seduwa with the last village of Tashi Gaon, from this village onwards where permanent human settlement is not found till adventure reaches you back at Tashi Gaon after visiting Makalu Base Camp.

Makalu base camp takes you to high ridges of Khoma and few smaller passes to reach beautiful Barun valley enriched with exotic and rare flora and fauna which are found around almost extinct in the world.

From Barun valley, a nice scenic walk takes you right in the heart of towering Mt. Makalu at base camp with a sweeping panorama of Baruntse, Chamlang with Makalu and the only spot where one can view rare sides of Mt. Everest known as Khansung East Face of Everest.

After an enjoyable and most mesmerizing time return journey on the same scenic trails with ups and down to reach Num village and the end of the walk where the drive takes you to low farm fields and villages at Tumlingtar for last final night around Makalu region.
