Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking a short and scenic with cultural walks where the route takes you around nice hill villages adorned with age-old Nepalese heritage culture and traditions, which make one interesting part of the treks.

Brief about How we Do This Trek:
It starts from the famous and renowned touristic city in Pokhara where the walk begins after a short drive to reach the foot of high hills and then following old Trans Himalaya Salt and Caravan Route of Nepal to Tibet that extends to Ghorepani and beyond towards Upper Mustang.
The walk continues with a climb with exciting views of waterfalls and beautiful landscapes then steep climb to reach Ulleri a large hill village then on gradual ups within serene woodland of tall rhododendron, magnolia and pine tree lines to reach Ghorepani village.
Ghorepani village located within a beautiful forest of pines and rhododendron, the area around regarded as the world’s largest rhododendron garden where the next early morning short hike takes you on top Poon Hill for stunning sunrise views with the glorious mountain range.
Enjoying fabulous moments with views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu range with majestic Machhapuchare Himal a famous twin summit peak appears a shape of a Fish-Tail, and then return journey takes you on the alternative scenic route via large Gurung village at Ghandruk.
From Ghandruk with last overnight on high hills of Annapurna back to low warm farm fields where drive reaches you to scenic and beautiful Pokhara by its serene Phewa Lake to complete marvelous Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking.
Season for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek:
Nearly all months of the year except the wet monsoon times from June to mid-September, unless interested in rich flora and fauna where hills are green with thick vegetation but wet with rains.
Best time March to May when most days are clear for views of mountains and pleasant walks with longer sunlight hours due to spring season when wildflowers especially rhododendron and magnolia in bloom.
Next best months October to December although cold in the morning and night time with freezing temperatures around higher hills, but with the fine clear day but sunlight hours due to autumn/fall and pre-winter season.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu via various airlines and transfer to hotel.
On main arrival at Kathmandu also the only Nepal international airport where you will be received by All Nepal Treks and Excursion staff and guides for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city around most interesting area in Thamel.
On checking your rooms, getting refreshed join with other trekkers for briefing provided by our guide or leader.
Evening enjoy group dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese restaurants with live cultural program to entertain you with dinner.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel - 06 hrs journey.
Morning at the earliest depart from the hotel by 7 a.m. and then on the road with exciting drive to Nepal Mid West reaching Pokhara, a renowned touristic and beautiful place of Nepal and whole Himalaya areas.
On reaching scenic Pokhara transfer to your hotel near its serene Phewa Lake, Pokhara blessed with natural beauty located on the laps of Annapurna mountain range with towering peaks of Machhapuchare the famous ‘Fish Tail’ that touches the surface of Phewa and Begnas Lakes.
Pokhara a major starting and ending points of many trekking and other adventure around Annapurna Himalaya and beyond, where some can take the options flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara of 30 minutes scenic flight.
Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,445 m - 04 hrs.
Enjoying overnight in Pokhara, where short takes you in the morning to start the treks, where drive heads past Pokhara valley with beautiful views of Annapurna peaks.
Reaching Nayapul a busy town or further towards nice Bhirethati village, then start walk with up past farm villages and terraces facing views of waterfalls, and then reach overnight stop at Tirkhedhunga village close to beautiful waterfalls.
Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m -06 hrs.
Morning begins with steep climb for an hour or more to large Ulleri village overlooking views of Annapurna and Machhapuchare peaks, from Ulleri onward walks on nice pleasant winding up into cool shade of rhododendron and pine forest.
As walk leads to famous Ghorepani village for overnight as well the major destinations of the trek located at the base of Poon Hill, Ghorepani offers grand views of Dhaulagiri range of mountains.
The village populated by Poon Magar hill tribe of Western Nepal, this nice place situated in the midst of rhododendron forest, in spring will be lively when flowers are in full bloom.
Day 05: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m and trek to Tadapani 2,630m -06 hrs.
Early morning head for a climb to be at scenic Poon Hill offers striking sunrise views over 360° wide panorama of snow-capped peaks from Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri’s with massive Annapurna range includes Manaslu and towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish-Tail’ peak.
After a glorious moment descends to Ghorepani for breakfast and continues trek heading uphill into the forest along with mountain views.
The walk leads down to a gorge and within dense woodland with a short climb to reach at Tadapani a small settlement having 8-10 nice lodges within forest surrounding with views of Annapurna peaks.
Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk 1,930 m and transfer to lodge - 04 hrs.
At Tadapani enjoy morning views of high Annapurna peaks, today a short walk that takes you into beautiful woodland with long descend to the large village of Ghandruk, populated by Gurung the hill people of Annapurna region.
While in Ghandruk with last overnight stop on high hills of Annapurna with time to explore local Gurung culture and visit nice small museum with information on history and heritage life of Gurung people.
Day 07: Trek to road-head and drive to Pokhara - 04 hrs.
The morning after breakfast with views of Annapurna descend to reach on the road-head past several villages and then a short drive of a few hours reaches you back at lovely Pokhara by the lake Phewa.
Pokhara a great city offers a wide range of activities one can join in for other activities like Para-Gliding, Ultra-Light Flight or Zip-Flyer, where one spend the afternoon boating on Phewa Lake.
Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Morning after breakfast in the hotel departs for Kathmandu of more than five hours interesting and exciting drives following the main highway through nice farm villages and towns with views of the snow-capped mountain range.
As drive continues then on winding up to reach top spot on the outskirt of Kathmandu valley and the city, a short drive from the top reaches you to your hotel, with afternoon free for individual activities and shopping.

Day 09: International departure to respective countries homeward bound.
Last day in the land of world highest mountains and exciting cultures, as per your time for international flight depart from the hotel, where All Nepal Treks staff and guide transfers you to the airport, with grand experience and beautiful memories of Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking.

- Emergency Evacuation by any means of Transportations and personal medical kit.
- Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal/medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
