Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Kathmandu famous world heritage sites
Morning after breakfast short drive or walks to main areas in Kathmandu Durbar Square to witness daily routines of Nepalese and rich culture with an interesting place where Old Palaces from Malla regime to Shah Dynasty are located with other places of great interest.
Tour of Kasthamandap (Temple built with a single huge tree where the name Kathmandu derived from), imposing pagodas near Hanuman Dhoka Palace. The city is said to be built in its present form by Gunakama Dev in 724 A.D.
Hanuman Dhoka (Durbar Square):

Temple Of Kumari (The Living Goddess):
Temple and resident quarter of ‘Living Goddess’; known as Kumari, located in the centre of Hanuman Dhoka or Palace: The building has many carved wooden balconies and window screens. It was built by Jaya Prakash Malla, the last Malla King of Kathmandu.
The Kumari a Virgin Goddess when she gets into puberty stages replaced by another Kumari a act as a Living form of Goddess, worshipped by the Newari tribe the native of Kathmandu valley since the days of Malla regime period.
Tour of Swayambhunath:
After tour of Durbar Square and important sites short drive west from city area to reach at famous and oldest landmark of Nepal Swayambhunath with its ancient Stupa.
Swayambhunath world's most glories Buddhist stupa of more than 2,000 years old visitors often calls as "Monkey Temple". The stupa forms the main structure, supported with lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on four sides are all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.
The hill a mosaic of small stupas and pagodas temples offers grand view of Kathmandu city right with snow capped mountains towards north, from here drive to reach eastern area of the city at holy Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath.
Situated 5 k.m. east of Kathmandu on the banks of sacred Baghmati River, the temple dedicated to lord Shiva, the temple with two tiered golden roof and silver doors, a great and superb architectures, as well a center of annual pilgrimage on the day of Maha Shivaratri falls in the month of February.
From here short drive north east to Bouddhanath also called as Little Tibet, Bouddhanath Stupa located 08 k.m. of Kathmandu city an ancient stupa; one of the largest in the world, with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha, it is said to have been built by Lichchhavi King Mana Dev in the 05th A.D. The Stupa with an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels.
The area surrounded by markets with nice shops and restaurants an interesting place to catch Buddhism culture and custom similar to Tibetan traditional life, as the area also called as Little Tibet.

Morning a short drive to Patan and Lalitpur city within Royal Palace or Durbar Square the area teemed with local activities within Durbar Square, on clear morning views of snow capped peak can be seen towards north direction.

Patan Durbar Square:
Center of Patan / Lalitpur enriched with ancient Newari architecture with three main courtyards within palace Mul-Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk with Mul Chowk the oldest within centre of Patan square, several multi sized and a multi-styled temple houses the western part of the complex.
The main among Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya a famous and largest courtyard among three main Chowk (Square), the Bidya Temple is located at the center of the courtyard and the Taleju temples stand around the courtyard.
Sundari Chowk south of Mul Chowk with near dry ancient water spouts known as Tusha Hiti Mul Chowk & Taleju Temple.
Keshav Narayan Chowk the earliest Malla palace in Patan, the Chowk sits on the older foundations of a Buddhist monastery.
Krishna Temple dedicated to Hindu God Lord Krishna built in 17th century, regarded as first of Shikara style architecture, commands a vital position within the palace or durbar square.
The elegant Sikhara temple listed as one of a gem of Durbar Square, the temple compared with sacred Mount Meru, abode of Lord Shiva according to Hindu scriptures.
Mahaboudha:
A Buddhist temple of Mahaboudha, which is made of clay bricks, lies to the east of the Durbar Square. Hundreds of Buddha images are engraved in the bricks. The temple is known for its fine terra cotta work.
Kumbheshwor:
Just at rim of Drubar square lies five-storied pagoda temple of Lord Siva built by King Jayasthiti Malla, inside the temple premises a natural spring, its source the belief is from the famous glacial lake of Gosainkunda around Langtang Himal of Rasuwa district .
The golden work on the temple was added later in 1422 A.D.
On the festival of Janai Purnima (month of August), ritual bathing and fair takes place.
Jagat Narayan Temple:
Jagat Narayan temple a tall Shikara style temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, red bricks are used for the construction. The temple also holds a fine and masterpiece metal statue of Garuda, Ganesh and Hanuman, all related to Hindu religion and mythology.
Rudra Varna Mahavihar:
This Buddhist monastery holds amazing collection of images and idols in metal, stone and wood. Legend holds that the Kings in the ancient times were crowned in this monastery. Many of the treasures offered by the people can be seen here even today.
The Asoka Stupas:
The Indian Emperor Asoka visited Nepal in 250 B.C and constructed four ancient stupas around four corners of Patan. The four stupas are located in Pulchowk, Lagankhel, Imatole and in Teta (way to Sano Gaon) respectively.
Patan Industrial Estate:
Located outside the city suburb near the Stupa at Lagankhel, an interesting place to visit and shopping for souvenirs, where all the handicrafts are hand made from metal, wood to stone art work includes carpet, Peshmina shawl are woven here, as Patan / Lalitpur is city of beauty and arts, it will be an opportunity to observe the work and skill of craftsman and to purchase some items from this place.
Afternoon short drive of less than hour takes you to medvial city at Bhaktapur great fascinating place and worth a visit
Bhaktapur once a capital of Nepal during Malla regime around 6th to 10th Century, at present remains as third largest city of after Kathmandu and Patan / Lalitpur situated further east direction on former highway of Kathmandu and Lhasa / Tibet.
An interesting and must visit city of Bhaktapur takes you around ancient and medvial era times and witness local Newar culture of great immense interest with their daily routine worshipping and prayer around old temples.
